Which High Chair?

With so many options of baby high chairs out in the market and being the new parents that we are, we can't choose what to buy! The comfort and appearance of these chairs matter to us, but they get quite pricey.

BLOOM FRESCO CAD$399
Age: rest > feed > play (NB - 6M, 6M-2YRS, 2 YRS-79 lbs)
Pros: 2 adjustable trays (feeding and playing), multiple reclining seat, adjustable foot rest, full rotation *but does a child really need all this function in a seat?*
Cons: Expensive! a mom complained "The straps are so bulky that a smaller child is really inhibited by them - my daughter is a year old and they are still too large - I can't imagine how much worse it would be with a younger child. And the seat liner is made of very porous foam that stained beyond cleaning the first time we used it."

Age: 6M+
Pros: Made out of wood, lightweight hence more portable, durable, easy to clean, well made, solid
Cons: Fits better on bigger kids, baby rail broke for a customer and customer service did not assist her with her concern
Age: 6 months - 4 years
Very stylish, but not much review for this chair online.
100% Canadian
Again, not much review for this chair online, probably because this is a new product?

BOON FLAIR CAD$239
Age: 6 months - 4 years
Pros: Easy to cleanup - waterproof seat pads, comes with two liners & no corners to trap food, adjustable height, easy glide that will not scratch floor, the tray fits the dishwasher, PLUS Boon gives 10% of their profit to charity
Cons: Shoulder straps will not fit older kids, not easy to install, seat does not recline

or I guess we can go with the Fisher Price Rainforest Chair CAD$159. Lil T tried sitting in one today and he liked sitting in it. Choices choices..
Note: Opinions expressed on the pros and cons above are from different moms from various sources.

Baby Show

Crazy show! It was my first time going to any of these shows. A friend of mine went on Friday to the Baby Show at the Metro Toronto Convention Center and told me "big aisles and so many samples, it will be worth it for you to bring a stroller". I came with a friend, lil T and my trusty bugaboo.

Our first stop was the Heinz kiosk. They gave a box of cans of liquid concentrate formulas in a cute bag. I had to say no to the samples only because I just couldn't carry them. Plus, lil T has settled with Enfamil so I didn't need anymore samples. Nestle and Similac were there too giving out samples of formulas. I just couldn't believe how other moms came ready with trolleys to stock up their formula samples -- they must be baby show veterans!

I bought quite a few things - Robeez shoes, a toothbrush for babies, the mommy hook, the Wisey organizer (finally -- couldn't find it anywhere) - retailers were selling products at a discounted price and manufacturers were selling floor model for cheaper as well. If I had known, I would've done my research prior to the show. The prominent retailers at the show were Dear Born, Baby Land, and Moms to Be and More.

I should've listened to my friend's advice to not bring too many diapers and wipes. The show had a nursing and diaper changing area sponsored by Huggies. The baby show was very very baby friendly, it was great to bring lil T out!

There was a breastfeeding seminar going on while we walked around. These seminars are great for expecting moms and new moms! My friend who came with me was four months pregnant and she enjoyed her discussions with various exhibitors and other moms at the show.

So let's see... photo shoots, formulas, cereals, diapers, wipes, baby soap and lotion, nursing pads, books, dvds -- all for free, plus got way to many coupons which I probably may never use. Definetely something worth considering if you can come out with (or without) your baby!
